Terms of use

This is the same text the Liftrung app shows in Settings.

1. Who we are and what this covers

Liftrung (earlier called Fitrak) ("the app", "we", "us") is a fitness-tracking app made by Ariel Gini. Postal address: Habanim 51, Herzliya, Israel.

By creating an account or using the app you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Our Privacy Policy (https://liftrung.com/privacy/) explains how we handle your data and is part of these Terms.

2. Who can use Liftrung

  • You must be at least 13 to use the app. The paid subscription and AI food recognition (photo and typed-phrase AI) are available only to users aged 18 and older.
  • Social features are open from age 13 (updated 2026-10-04). If you are 18 or older, your Social account is public by default: other people can follow you and see your shared activity, and you appear on public leaderboards, until you switch to "approve followers" or leave the leaderboards in Social & privacy.
  • If you are 13 to 17:
    • your profile is always private, and you approve who follows you;
    • adults who don't already follow you can't find you in search, follow you, react to your posts or see your workouts;
    • you never appear on leaderboards shown to other people, and on any board you appear only by username, never by real name.
  • Under 16, you may use Liftrung only with a parent's or guardian's permission. We do not check or record that permission.
  • Under 13, the app is not available.
  • We ask your age during setup and you must give it to use the app. Only an age band ("young teen", "teen" or "adult") is sent to our server, never your birth date. We cannot verify it with documents. If you give a false age, you break these Terms, and we may close your account.
  • If the app is not legal to use where you live, do not use it.

3. Your account

  • Everyone needs an account, including free users. You can sign in with Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google or an email code.
  • Give accurate information and keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • One person, one account. Do not sell, share or transfer your account.
  • Your username is the name other people see. It must not be offensive, impersonate someone, or imitate Liftrung staff (for example "admin" or "support").

4. Free and paid parts

  • The free tier lets you record your training and food and see what happened. It stays free.
  • The paid tier gives advice and extra features. At launch the paid feature is AI food recognition. Features and prices can change, and we will show the price in the app before you pay. The price shown at purchase is the price you pay. The free features — workout logging, food logging and progress gems — stay free. We will not move them behind a paywall.
  • Fair use. Paid AI food recognition is for normal personal use. On every paid plan, including lifetime, you can use up to 20 AI food scans a day (10 a day during the free trial). The count resets at midnight, your local time. If you reach it, a photo you take is kept and scanned for you after midnight; typed food is saved for you to log by hand. You are not charged extra and your account stays active. Logging your training and food by hand is not limited. We may also restrict use that is automated, shared between people, or resold. If we ever lower this limit or end the paid feature, we will tell you in the app first, and you can cancel a subscription without penalty.

5. Subscriptions, trials, lifetime and cancellation

The paid subscription and AI food recognition (photo and typed-phrase AI) are available only to users aged 18 and older. The app itself remains available from age 13.

  • Weekly, monthly and yearly plans are auto-renewing subscriptions bought through the Apple App Store (in-app purchase). We use RevenueCat to check which plan you have.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Free trials, if offered, are shown on the purchase screen. When a trial ends, you are charged unless you cancel before it ends. Any unused part of a trial is lost when you buy a subscription.
  • Lifetime is a one-time, non-renewing purchase. It pays once for the paid features for as long as Liftrung offers them. That is not a promise of any number of years, and not a promise that one particular feature stays. If we shut down the service or end the paid feature, your lifetime access ends then. We will tell you in the app first where we reasonably can. A lifetime purchase has the same fair-use limits and the same disclaimers as a subscription.
  • To cancel a subscription: iPhone Settings > your name > Subscriptions > Liftrung > Cancel. Deleting the app or your Liftrung account does not cancel a subscription. Apple handles billing, so cancel through Apple.
  • Refunds are decided by Apple, not by us. Request them through Apple's Report a Problem service.
  • Your right to cancel a purchase (Israel). If you are a consumer in Israel, Israeli consumer law may let you cancel a distance purchase within 14 days. Exceptions, fees and rules for services you have already started to use may apply. Because Apple takes the payment, start with Apple's cancellation and refund process. If you need us, write to the address in section 16.
  • Your right to withdraw (EU). If you are a consumer in the EU, you may have a 14-day right to withdraw from a digital purchase. It can be lost once you ask us to start the service straight away.
  • Where applicable consumer law gives you cancellation or refund rights that cannot be waived, those rights stay.
  • If the app is released on Android later, the same rules apply through Google Play. We will update these Terms then.

6. Health and fitness disclaimer

  • Liftrung is not medical advice. It does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition, and it is not a replacement for a doctor, dietitian, or physiotherapist.
  • Talk to a professional before starting a new exercise or diet plan, especially if you are pregnant, injured, under 18, have a medical condition, or have a history of disordered eating.
  • AI food estimates can be wrong. Calories, macros and food names that come from a photo are guesses made by an AI model. Do not rely on them for medical diets, allergies, or anything where a wrong number could hurt you. Check labels yourself.
  • Exercise has risk. You use the app and do any activity at your own risk. Stop if you feel pain, dizziness or unwell.
  • Numbers in the app (including leaderboards) are self-reported and are not checked by us.

7. Your content and community rules

"Your content" means what you put in the app that other people can see: your username, shared workouts, runs, gem climbs, routes you choose to share, reactions, segment efforts, and reports.

Zero tolerance. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users in Liftrung. This includes:

  • harassment, bullying, threats, hate or discrimination against people or groups;
  • sexual, violent, graphic or illegal content;
  • impersonation, scams, spam, or advertising;
  • usernames or content that do any of the above;
  • cheating the system, such as faking results to climb a leaderboard on purpose.

What happens if you break these rules. We may, without warning: remove the content, hide your profile or scores, suspend you, or permanently ban you and delete your account. We may also pass information to the authorities when the law requires or when someone is at risk. A banned person may not create a new account to get around the ban. We review every report within 48 hours.

How to report. Use the report button on any profile, activity or segment, and choose a reason (spam, impersonation, harassment, other). You can also email hello@liftrung.com.

How to block. Open a user's profile and tap Block. Blocking removes any follow between you, both ways. Neither of you can see the other's activity, profile or search results afterwards.

8. What you let us do with your content

You keep ownership of your content. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store it and show it to the people your settings allow: your followers, or anyone if your account is public, and on leaderboards and boards if you take part. The licence is only for running the app, and it ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups for a limited time, and reports kept for safety reasons (see the Privacy Policy).

You promise your content is yours to share and does not break any law or anyone's rights. Your health and food data, and your GPS routes unless you choose to share them, stay on your phone as the Privacy Policy describes.

9. Acceptable use

Do not:

  • break the law or these Terms;
  • try to hack, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the app or our servers, or bypass any limit or paywall;
  • use bots, scrapers or automated tools on the app or its data;
  • collect other users' information;
  • use the app to copy, resell or build a competing service from it;
  • use the AI food feature to submit things you have no right to submit, or content that is illegal.

10. Ending your account

  • You can delete your account inside the app (Settings). Deleting it removes your server-held data, including your social content, immediately. It cannot be undone. Data stored only on your phone stays there until you delete it or the app. Deleting does not cancel Apple subscriptions (see section 5). Some other services we use keep their own copies for a time, as the Privacy Policy explains.
  • We can suspend or end your account if you break these Terms or the law, or if we shut down the service. If we end the service, we will tell you where we reasonably can.

11. Privacy

How we collect and use your data, and your rights, is in the Privacy Policy (https://liftrung.com/privacy/). It names the services that receive data: a cloud AI model provider for AI food recognition, RevenueCat for purchases (one transfer to the United States), Brevo for sign-in emails, Neon for our database, PostHog for analytics and Cloudflare for our server. We treat every user as if EU data law applies, wherever you live.

12. Our responsibility, and its limits

This section applies as far as the law allows.

  • The app is provided "as is". We do not promise it will always work, be error-free, be available, or keep your data forever. Keep your own records of anything you cannot afford to lose.
  • We are not responsible for injuries or health problems from using the app or following its suggestions (see section 6).
  • We are not responsible for other users' content or behaviour, although we work to remove it when reported.
  • We are not responsible for losses we could not reasonably predict, or for lost profits or data.
  • Our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim, or US$100 if you paid nothing.
  • Nothing here limits rights you have by law that cannot be limited, such as responsibility for intentional harm or gross negligence, or consumer rights you cannot waive, including your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act where it applies.

13. Apple

These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or for support, maintenance or warranty. Apple and its subsidiaries can enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary when you accept them. Apple's Standard End User License Agreement also applies to your use of the app on iPhone. If these Terms conflict with Apple's, Apple's rules for in-app purchases apply to that purchase.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and the courts of Tel Aviv have exclusive authority, except where mandatory consumer law gives you the right to go to court where you live.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may change these Terms. For important changes we will tell you in the app before they start. If you keep using the app after the change date, you accept the new Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the app and delete your account. The "last updated" date at the top shows the latest version.
